Interbrand has released its 2012 Best Retail Brands Report, which ranks the top 50 most valuable retail brands in the United States. Walmart topped the list, followed by Target, The Home Depot, CVS/pharmacy, Best Buy, Walgreens, Coach, Sam’s Club, Amazon.com, and Ebay.

Interbrand also comments on some key retail trends affecting our industry, in particular the move to digital platforms and an expansion beyond just brick and mortar retail to cross channel commerce, a change we have recognized and ensure our licensing programs are built to meet these changing retail needs.

Andy Warhol’s Connection to The Joester Loria Group

Andy Warhol is a big part of our daily life at JLG. Our office was Andy Warhol’s last factory and we can still feel the presence of Andy and his superstars. Unexpected guests from famous former fixtures in Andy’s world to fans with guidebooks in hand drop by from time to time.

The Village Voice recently ran an interesting piece about this iconic pop artist. Joester Loria Signs Oxford University


Oxford Limited, the licensor for the University of Oxford’s brand licensing program, has appointed The Joester Loria Group (JLG) as its agent for North America. The agency will develop the apparel and home furnishings categories for the U.S. and Canadian markets, categories successfully developed in Europe and Asia.

The University’s world-class libraries and museums will provide a rich source of reference and source material for Oxford’s brand licensing program. Central to the University’s brand licensing program, however, is its coat of arms and the University of Oxford name, as well as the many sports club marks. These assets have been captured in the extensive style guides that provide licensees with turnkey designs and graphics.

Oxford is the oldest English speaking university in the world, with the earliest records of teaching dating back to 1096.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Den is opening at Hampton Court Palace on March 3rd with a free show hosted by BBC cook/presenter Katy Ashworth. The interactive event will feature story time and games all centered around Eric Carle’s classic, recently cited as the #1 most read book in the UK.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Den will be a family-friendly area furnished with comfortable seating and toys and games to entertain children. The healthy menu will include vital nutritional elements for lots of energy, strong muscles and growing bones. Children will be encouraged to make their own healthy choices and their selections will be placed in Very Hungry Caterpillar branded boxes.
