The Joester Loria Group and its client The World of Eric Carle are gearing up for another successful Very Hungry Caterpillar Day on the first day of Spring, March 20th. This year’s celebration will include a variety of activities including retail initiatives, PR and social media campaigns, as well as events and promotions from key brand licensing partners.
This year’s retail initiatives include a digital marketing promotion with Buy Buy Baby that will comprise of a dedicated email to the retailer’s three million subscribers, Facebook promotion and homepage visibility for The World of Eric Carle products, which will reach more than 3.4 million unique monthly visitors. On Amazon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar will also receive marquee promotion through a Kindle storefront campaign, email marketing and a search campaign to drive traffic to a dedicated World of Eric Carle brand page. Additionally, Barnes and Noble will promote seven Very Hungry Caterpillar titles with mini mission tables supported with dedicated signage, while independent bookstores nationwide will receive publishing displays and Very Hungry Caterpillar Day event kits. Other retail promotions will include a Very Hungry Caterpillar Day flash sale hosted by Zulily.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day PR and social media strategy includes mommy blogger outreach and a Facebook advertising campaign. This special occasion also will be celebrated with engaging events for parents and children including Very Hungry Caterpillar family painting events at more than 118 Painting With A Twist locations nationwide. Additionally, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites Live Show is also continuing its successful tour across the country.
Key brand licensing partners will also help celebrate this special day with a variety of promotions. Chronicle Books will feature key World of Eric Carle products on their homepage and offer a VHCDAY promotion code for 30% off featured products from March 13-24. Chronicle will also promote the Very Hungry Caterpillar day through their social media platforms and email newsletter.
