In a brand licensing deal brokered by The Joester Loria Group, Kellogg’s Eggo Waffles is partnering with Funko to develop a new co-branded POP! Vinyl figure with Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things”. The figure features the character Eleven holding her favorite food, Eggo Waffles. The Eleven With Eggos figure will be available in two versions, one with Eleven wearing her blond wig and one without. Prominent Eggo branding is featured on both the packaging and the figures themselves. Funko’s line of “Stranger Things” collectibles will be available in early 2017.
The supernatural series has a cult following, which has helped this exciting new brand extension generate buzz in media outlets including Entertainment Weekly, Nerdist and io9.com.
The Joester Loria Group is also partnering another Kellogg’s brand, Frosted Flakes, with Funko. A Tony the Tiger figure is in development and will be available in late 2017 as part of Funko’s POP! Ad Icons program. The new figure will feature Tony the Tiger in POP’s unique design aesthetic that includes squared off heads and oversized eyes. Tony will sport his signature red scarf.
Funko is a purveyor of pop-culture and licensed collectibles with the rights to thousands of characters. Funko’s POP! Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible collection on the market, selling millions of figures around the world.
