Co-hosted by Kiddy Art Museum and Hangzhou Powerlong Art Center, The Playful World of Eric Carle’s national tour officially kicked off its third stop on December 15th and will run through April 2, 2023. The Hangzhou event follows successful stops in Shanghai and Beijing.
The new interactive exhibit features elements imported from the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh as well as programs inspired by Eric Carle’s picture books created in collaboration with The World of Eric Carle. The event celebrates Eric Carle’s interpretation of nature and the fabulous picture book world he created featuring four sections: Very Eric Carle, The World of Eric Carle, Kiddy Lab and the Kiddy Art Shop.
The World of Eric Carle area features interactive activities including a “rubber duck factory” inspired by Eric Carle’s picture book 10 Little Rubber Ducks, where kids can create their own little ducks. Other activities include learning the fabulous colors and animals from Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, discovering the animal sounds featured in Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?, and storytime in the Draw Me A Star and Little Cloud Reading Zone and rounded out with arts and crafts workshops.
The brand licensing campaign for The World of Eric Carle is managed in China by licensing agent Guangzhou Art-land Holding Company, Ltd. through the brand’s worldwide agent, The Joester Loria Group.
