The Joester Loria Group’s client The World of Eric Carle has partnered with Touch Press to develop the new My Very Hungry Caterpillar AR app for iPhones and iPads. The app was made using ARKit, which helps developers easily create augmented reality experiences by blending digital elements with the physical environment.
This exciting new app allows children to interact with a vibrant and life-like version of Eric Carle’s iconic caterpillar, which has won the hearts of millions of children around the world for almost 50 years. Now thanks to ARKit, users can interact with the caterpillar in a real-world environment. Not only do children learn about the lifecycle of the caterpillar / butterfly, they also develop empathy and responsibility as well as visuospatial skills.
In 2014, in partnership with The World of Eric Carle, StoryToys, a division of Touch Press, first brought the world’s favorite caterpillar to life in the stunning interactive My Very Hungry Caterpillar app. To date, 4.6 million users have downloaded the app.
The My Very Hungry Caterpillar AR app is now available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store for just $2.99 The new app has already has already generated buzz from CNN, Rolling Stone Magazine, TechCrunch and The Verge.
