Eric Carle, author and illustrator of iconic children’s books including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, is being honored with an exhibit dedicated to his 50-year career at The High Museum in Atlanta. “I See A Story: The Art of Eric Carle,” will be on display from April 2, 2016 through January 8, 2017.
The retrospective exhibition will feature more than 80 of Carle’s signature collages from 15 of his most popular works. The show will celebrate Carle’s innovative illustration style and explore his interests and techniques by showcasing original works that are rarely displayed.
This exhibition is presented in conjunction with the Alliance Theatre’s production of Pancakes, Pancakes!, which will run from June 1 through July 3, 2016, and is based on Eric Carle’s book of the same name. The exhibit was organized by The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts. The show is already generating excitement and was included in The Huffington Post’s list of 21 Exhibitions You’ll Be Talking About Next Year.
