The World of Eric Carle is celebrating prestigious award nominations for The Very Hungry Caterpillar live show, and new partners.
In a licensing deal brokered by The Joester Loria Group, Wildkin will create bedding and room décor collections for the World of Eric Carle brand featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other iconic characters from Carle’s beloved books. The collections, including toddler and infant bedding, nap mats, rugs, lamps, clocks, and organizational accessories, will capture the brand’s playful themes and Carle’s distinct collage art . The World of Eric Carle products from Wildkin will launch spring 2017 at mid-tier, specialty and independent retailers.
Additionally, The Very Hungry Caterpillar show has been nominated for both a Drama Desk award and an Off Broadway Alliance award. The Drama Desk Awards honor outstanding achievements on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway. The Very Hungry Caterpillar show is nominated in the Unique Theatrical Experience category and is the only children’s show nominated this year. The winner will be announced on June 5th. The show is also nominated for an Off Broadway Alliance Award in the Best Family Show category. These awards honor commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off-Broadway during the 2015-16 season. Winners will be announced on May 18th.
