Last week, License Global hosted its second annual NYC Licensing Summit, featuring speakers from companies including JLG client PepsiCo and The Joester Loria Group, CAA-GBG, Head Sport, Black and Decker, Iconix, Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products and PVH Corp. among others. Some of the key topics discussed were trends in the licensing and retail industries as well as celebrity licensing, corporate branding, children’s entertainment, music licensing and location-based entertainment. Approximately 400 executives from a wide range of branding and retail companies attended the two-day event. Representatives from Chupa Chups, Conde Nast, CPLG, Feld Entertainment, Godiva, Hot Topic, Major League Soccer, Mattel, Meredith, NFLPA, Saban Brands, Sesame Workshop, Universal, Viacom and WWE among many others, were all in attendance.
JLG President Debra Joester joined Carlos Saavedra and Brenda Williams of PepsiCo to discuss how Pepsi and Mountain Dew initiatives have driven innovation, aligned with key campaigns and targeted the increasingly important Millennial and Gen Z demographics. The panel discussion was entitled, “Corporate Brand Licensing: PepsiCo–How an Innovative Approach Enhances its Brands,” and detailed how JLG works with PepsiCo to develop brand extensions and collaborations that engage consumers with Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Aquafina and other PepsiCo brands.
