Earlier this month, a giant balloon inspired by Eric Carle’s famous Very Hungry Caterpillar was featured in the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington D.C. The annual event runs for ten blocks along D.C.’s historic Constitution Avenue and features floats, balloons, marching bands and exciting musical performances.
This longstanding Washington DC tradition received national exposure through coverage from Washington Post and ABC News. The parade is part of the Cherry Blossom Festival, which ran from March 15 through April 16. According to festival organizers, more than 1.5 million people visit D.C. every year to see the city’s famous cherry blossoms.
