With the 2019 Women’s World Cup currently underway, REP Worldwide has tapped The Joester Loria Group to develop a targeted assortment of athleisure and lifestyle products for its client, the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association, which represents the group rights of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team players.
“The U.S. Women’s National Team has inspired millions of young women to compete in sports and play soccer,” said Debra Joester, President of the Joester Loria Group. “The exposure and anticipation around the World Cup in 2019 and the Olympics in 2020 will further elevate fan engagement and excitement.”
Recognized for engineering innovative, award-winning brand licensing programs for some of the world’s best-known organizations, The Joester Loria Group will work with REP Worldwide to grow the USWNTPA’s licensing program by developing player-driven athleisure and lifestyle products for specialty distribution that feature current and retired Women’s National Team members.
According to a recent Gallup poll, soccer is closing in on the top three major U.S. spectator sports. It is also one of the nation's fastest growing youth sports. The stats coincide with the rising popularity of the Women's National Team. The team has won three World Cups and four Olympic Gold medals, while over the last several years generating record television ratings, attracting enormous crowds, and bridging pop culture.
“There is vast potential to capitalize on group rights and marketing around the U.S. Women’s National Team, and we’re eager to work with Joester Loria Group to create more opportunities for fans to engage with their favorite players through an extended assortment of licensed products,” said Steve Scebelo, REP Worldwide President and NFL Players Inc. Vice President of Licensing and Business Development.
To date, REP Worldwide has executed brand licensing agreements with more than 30 companies across categories that promote player-driven product, including t-shirts, socks, scarves, novelties, customized jerseys, promotional items and digital collectibles.
