Last week nearly 100 guests, including representatives from the UK, Australia, Japan and Germany, gathered at Project Farmhouse in New York City for a World of Eric Carle Summit organized by JLG. The unique venue supports the non-profit that created it, GrowNYC.
At the summit, 15 presenters including JLG, international agents, Eric Carle publishers, branding agencies and licensees showcased plans for the upcoming 50th birthday of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The World of Eric Carle publishing and licensing has grown over 27% in the past 4 years, and 2018/19 is expected to spur more opportunities with strategic partnerships, national campaigns, retail promotions, new branding assets and cross-territory global initiatives. A new creative style guide was also unveiled at the event.
The gathering provided partners from around the world opportunities to network and explore ways they can partner with each other and participate in key initiatives including pre-school programs, digital activations, and global campaigns. The day also served as a great introduction to the brand for new partners.
The event celebrated Eric Carle’s award-winning publishing franchise that has inspired a global consumer products program available in more than 45,000 doors in 15+ countries. With over 150 licensees and promotional partners, the brand extends into categories including: toys, games, apparel, accessories, home décor, social expressions, stationery, gift, feeding, classroom supplies, mobile apps and live shows.
